Sundance Film Festival to have AAPI House this year

Thanks to Daniel Dae Kim, there will be an AAPI house at the Sundance Film Festival this year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kim’s production company 3AD, Gold House and The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) have formed the Sunrise Collective, which will host three days of programming from January 20-22.

As part of the programming, there will be several panels featuring notable AAPIs, creatives and business leaders. According to a TAAF press release, there will be appearances from Nina Yang Bongiovi, Apoorva Guru Charan, Sherry Cola, Ally Maki, Randall Park, and Saim Sadiq, and creative collaborations with James Jean (artist), and Joe Hahn (from the band Linkin Park).

The collective will also host several dinners with food provided by Michelin-starred COTE Korean Steakhouse and proprietor Simon Kim and Chinese Peruvian fine-casual restaurant, Chifa 國偉.

The collective will announce more speakers and programming soon. More information can be found at its website.
