‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ nominated for 11 Oscars, most of any film this year

Everything Everywhere All at Once leads the Oscar nominations this year with 11 total nominations. The official list of nominations was announced Tuesday morning.

The groundbreaking film was nominated for:

  • Best Picture
  • Best Actress in a Supporting Role – Jamie Lee Curtis
  • Best Actress in a Supporting Role – Stephanie Hsu
  • Best Actor in a Supporting Role- Key He Quan
  • Original Song – “This Is A Life”
  • Original Screenplay
  • Best Actress – Michelle Yeoh
  • Best Director – Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan,
  • Costume Design
  • Original Score
  • Film Editing

Other Asians in the industry were also nominated for Oscars. Hong Chau was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in The Whale. She was previously nominated for a Golden Globe in 2017 for her role in Downsizing.

Kazuo Ishiguro, a Nobel Prize-winning author, was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for living. “The Elephant Whisperers,” which tells the true story of a couple in South India who care for an orphaned baby elephant, is nominated for Best Documentary Short Film.
