Disney is still searching for cast members to star in their live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch. They still have not found someone to play the titular character, Lilo.
According to KITV 4, the casting agent is searching for “a 6-8 year-old precocious Native Hawaiian who loves hula, surfing and wildlife, with an affinity for all things gross,” to play Lilo. The company is also searching for someone to play Tutu and Mrs. Kekoa.
A few major roles have already been filled. According to The Hollywood Reporter, comedic actor Zach Galifianakis signed a deal to star in the film. The exact details of his role have not yet been released.
Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell With Shoes On) will direct the re-make which was written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright, The Hollywood Reporter reports. Ryan Halprin will serve as the executive producer.
According to KITV 4, the film is set to hit theaters sometime in 2024. It is unclear when production will begin. Those interested in auditioning for the remaining roles should click the email address link in KITV 4’s article.
