Company posts job opening specifically for white applicants

CATEGORIES

A job opening at IT firm Arthur Grand Technologies specifically looking for White applicants was recently posted on Indeed.

According to Business Insider, the company was founded in 2012 in Ashburn, Virginia. It recently posted an opening on Indeed for a business analyst position. The post included a note specifying the type of candidate they were looking for: “Only Born US Citizens [White] who are local within 60 miles from Dallas, TX. [Don’t share with candidates.]”

Essence reports that the company initially claimed a new junior recruiter was responsible for the post.

“At Arthur Grand, we do not condone or engage in any type of discrimination based on race, color, or religion,” the company said on LinkedIn. “We conducted an investigation and discovered that a new junior recruiter at our firm was responsible for the offending job posting. We have taken immediate action and terminated their employment for violating our policy.”

Business Insider said the company later said a former employee had allegedly included discriminatory language in the job listing and published it without approval. In a second statement, Arthur Grand Technologies claimed it was a “minority-owned company” that would be taking legal action.
