ABC has canceled the drama series “The Company You Keep” after just one season, Deadline reports.
Milo Ventimiglia starred in and executive produced the series, which tells the story of a romance between con man Charlie (Ventimiglia) and undercover CIA agent Emma (Catherine Haena Kim). Jon M. Chu, who directed Crazy Rich Asians, also served as a producer.
In recent Instagram stories, Kim said she found out about the cancellation while on the phone with Ventimiglia as she traveled to a wedding. She said it felt like she was “dreaming.”
“I’m beyond grateful for this past year, creating and learning with a generous and talented group of artists I got to call my work family. I can’t wait til our paths cross again. I can’t wait to cheer every single one on as they keep winning. Because they will. Til next time (as Sarah beautifully said)…” she wrote in one story post.
Chu tweeted that he was proud to have worked on the show, thanking the cast and crew.
