216 passengers on board a plane that had to make an emergency landing in Russia arrived at their destination in San Francisco overnight-two days late, reports CNN.
The Air India flight from New Delhi had to be diverted Tuesday due to engine problems.
“Flight AI173D from Magadan (GDX) landed safely in San Francisco (SFO) at 0007 Hours on 08 June 2023 (local time),” Air India announced on Twitter.
Some passengers expressed discomfort about conditions in Russia.
“None of us was used to the climate,” said Girvaan Singh Kahma to ABC7 News. “And it was bitter cold for all of us.”
“There are no beds, they are sleeping on the floor on a mattress. I know this much, that they’ve been given bottles of water,” said Chhaya Agarwal who said her parents were on the flight. “And luckily my parents had the presence of mind to carry their medications in their handbags.”
