Police in both New York and San Francisco are seeking information about suspects in two recent attacks on Asian Americans.
The New York Hate Crime Task Force is investigating an attack aboard the 7-train at the Queensboro Plaza subway station in Long Island City on July 22, reports 1010 WIN.
The victim is a 31-year-old male who was approached by a stranger who police say began screaming anti-Asian slurs before striking the man.
Authorities say the suspect captured by surveillance video struck the victim numerous times with a closed fist on the left side of the man’s face.
The suspect is described as between 30 and 40 years old and has a dark complexion. He is approximately 6 feet tall and 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a black jean jacket, black shorts, white socks, white and black sneakers and a white baseball cap.

In San Francisco, an Asian American woman says she was the victim of a hate crime.
40-year-old Samorn Selim told the San Francisco Standard a male jogger tackled her to the ground as she took a walk at McClaren Park in San Francisco. She described the attack as unprovoked.
“I believe this is a hate crime based on my race and gender: Asian woman,” Selim, a Laotian American said. “He did not try to take anything from me, so this is not a theft case.”
She says the injuries are severe enough to require physical therapy. Police confirmed it had received a report of the attack, but no arrest or suspect information is available.
Selim posted about the attack on LinkedIn.
She says her attacker escaped in a white getaway car on Wednesday (7/26/23) between 9:40-10:00 am PST in SF near Bacon and University by McLaren Park.

America has provided a safe haven for anti Asian hate and racism for too long. remember all the Asian Americans that fought for this country and sacrificed so much when this country turned it back on them and betrayed the very principles of America.
