The young man who pleaded guilty to robbing four Asian women last year in Sacramento has received an eight-year prison sentence.
According to a press release from the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, the 21-year-old suspect pleaded guilty to three counts of robbery as strike offenses, one count of grand theft person, two arming enhancements and four hate crime allegations in court on August 8.
The 21-year-old man and a juvenile traveled from Fairfield to Sacramento multiple times to rob Asian women who were leaving stores on Stockton Blvd and 65th Street.
According to the press release, investigators from the Sacramento Police Department found communication between the pair that suggested they were targeting the victims because they were Asian.
In addition to serving eight years in prison, the man will also have to pay restitution to the victims.
