Anime fans rejoice! Netflix recently announced a “One Piece” anime remake.
According to a December 17 press release, the adaptation will be called “The One Piece” and start from the East Blue saga, the introductory saga for both the original manga and anime.
“One Piece” is a manga written by Eiichiro Oda that follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew as they search for “One Piece,” the ultimate treasure needed to become Pirate King.
The series is being produced by WIT Studio, known for its work on “Attack on Titan” and “SPY X FAMILY.” The studio is also partnering with Shueisha, Fuji Television Network, and Toei Animation Co.
Netflix said in a press release that the series is currently in production. It will stream globally once available, but a release date has not been finalized.
