Filipino American NBA coach Erik Spoelstra is set to sign a historic, eight-year, $120 million contract with the Miami Heat.
According to Yahoo Sports, news of the contract was first reported by veteran ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski. In a tweet, Wojnarowski called the contract “the most committed coaching money in history.”
CNN reached out to Spoelstra’s agency and the Heat but has not heard back.
Lebron James, however, did offer his congratulations on X, formerly known as Twitter. The NBA superstar played for Spoelstra in Miami from 2010 to 2014, winning two NBA champions.
