A man accused by prosecutors of saying “We need to start more Asian hate and wipe” Asian people “off the planet” has pled guilty to threatening to exterminate Asian Americans and Jews.
Fox11 reports 34-year-old Andre Morrow Lackner of San Fernando Valley in Southern California also admitted to sending antisemitic texts to a woman writing “Hitler was right about you people” and “I will make sure I kill a Jew before I leave this Earth.”
Authorities say he also planned to commit mass shootings at synagogues.
“My office will remain steadfast in standing up to hate and working to unite our community,” said United States Attorney Martin Estrada to Hoodline.
Donald Alway of the FBI urged victims to “quickly contact law enforcement to make a report.” He credited those who came forward in this case to prevent a tragedy from occurring.
“The defendant’s abhorrent words and actions caused his victim to experience fear of harm and death,” said Alway in a statement released by the Department of Justice. “The FBI urges victims of stalking to contact law enforcement to make a report.”
Lackner faces a five-year prison term and is scheduled to be sentenced June 3.
