Netflix has renewed its live-action remake of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” for a second and third season, Variety reports.
The show follows Aang who is on a journey to become the next Avatar and bring peace to the four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation and the Air Nomads.
The first season premiered on February 22. According to Deadline, the show recorded 41.1 million views in the first 11 days. It is on track to become one of Netflix’s ten most-watched shows.
Production plans to film the two seasons in close succession in order to combat the fact that child actors age out of their roles quickly, Deadline reports.
Netflix posted a photo of cast member Daniel Dae Kim breaking the news of the renewal to the rest of the cast.
