Olivia Rodrigo gives out free contraceptives at concert

Olivia Rodrigo is doing her part to raise awareness about reproductive health and reproductive rights.

During her concert on March 12 in St. Louis, Missouri, Rodrigo distributed free condoms, emergency contraceptives and information about abortion access, Variety reports.

Attendees were told they could grab packages that contained two boxes of a morning-after pill called Julie and QR codes linking to the Missouri Abortion Fund and other abortion access resources.

In 2019, Missouri passed a trigger law that made abortions illegal in the state after Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022. Some abortions may be permitted in cases of medical emergency but there are currently no exemptions for rape or incest.

Prior to June 2022, the Missouri Abortion Fund helped Missouri residents access abortion in the state. Now, according to their Instagram account, the fund partners with clinics in neighboring states to make sure Missouri residents “get the care they need.”

Rodrigo has been a vocal supporter of reproductive rights. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a portion of her Guts tour ticket sales will go to abortion funds through an initiative she created called Funds 4 Good.

The young pop star spoke out against the overturning of Roe v. Wade during her performance at the Glastonbury Festival.

“I’m devastated and terrified that so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this,” Rodrigo said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have showed us that at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a shit about freedom.”
