Police in Fresno, California are searching for a woman accused of choking an 18-year-old teen at the County Fair.
Katherine Vang tearfully recounted the incident to Fox26.
An argument broke out after the women was accused of jumping the long line for a fair ride. Vang says the woman then wrapped her hands around her neck while pushing her backwards.
“And then afterwards she finally gets off once her kids pull her off and then the first thing my mind is Oh I need a picture of her so I grab my phone out to take a picture and then she grabs my phone and she throws it on the floor.”
The woman who ran off is seen in photos released by the police as wearing a black shirt with white letters, a golden chain and big, black glasses, Your Central Valley reported.
Police say the woman who faces two misdemeanor charges has yet to be identified.
“My initial response is to freeze up, so I kind of didn’t know what to do. I was shocked, I think I didn’t process it immediately, I still am kind of in disbelief,” said Vang to ABC30.
Fresno Police say sometimes its best to just let these incidents go rather than risking an escalation.
“As you’ve seen lately here in the city of Fresno, there’s been a lot of violence that’s escalated from these fist fights as they originate, but they end up being a little bit worse than that. If you can just walk away, it’s not worth it,” said Fresno police officer, Luke Tran.
