The popular Filipino fast food chain Jollibee just announced it is taking 100 percent control of an international dim sum restaurant with five locations in the U.S.
Tim Ho Wan is renowned as a Michelin-starred restaurant with locations in 11 countries, reports ABS-CBN.
U.S. locations include two in New York, and one each in Irvine, CA; Las Vegas and Waikiki.
Jollibee obtained the remaining 8 percent stake in the upscale restaurant from the Titus Fund.
”This brand is known for bringing the best of Hong Kong to the world through its world-renowned dishes, Barbecue Pork Buns, and other specialties such as the Steamed Rice Roll stuffed with Barbecue Pork, Pan Fried Turnip Cake, and Steamed Egg Cake,” The Jollibee Foods Corporation said to GMA.
Other locations for Tim Ho Wan include Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Thailand, Macau and the U.S.
In 2023, it opened a new location in Wuxi City in China and broke the chian’s opening day sales record.
“Overall, 2023 was a year filled with business opportunities in China with Tim Ho Wan performing well and delivering multiple achievements. This 2024, we are optimistic and geared up to continue achieving new milestones and further boosting our presence in the country,” Jollibee Group President and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong said last July to Rappler.
