Police in Los Angeles says video has surfaced showing Hannah Kobayashi, crossing into Mexico, reports NBC Los Angeles.

No foul play is suspected at this time in the disappearance of 30 year old who has been missing for more than three weeks since failing to board a connecting flight in Los Angeles to New York.

“She’s an adult and she can choose to be missing,” said one police investigator to NBC LA.

According to the Daily Mail, the security footage showed her entering into Tijuana between November 12 and 13.

Authorities said they’ve seen surveillance video from Border Patrol of her walking alone through a tunnel at San Ysidro on Nov 12. Earlier she had arranged for her luggage which had been sent to New York to be returned to Los Angeles International Airport. She came to retrieve that luggage, but left without her phone.

Authorities in LA say she is now in another country and that they will no longer pursue the case until they receive word that she has returned.

“To date the investigation has not uncovered any evidence that Kobayashi is being trafficked or is the victim of any foul play,” LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said, according to ABC7 Los Angeles. “We’ve basically done everything we can do at this point,” McDonnell said.

So far there’s no reaction from the family to the latest news.

Time reports the police chief urged Hannah to contact her family.

“A simple message could reassure those who care about her,” McDonnell said.

They flew in from Maui to assist in the search effort. They became upset Thanksgiving weekend when McDonnell proclaimed that investigators had concluded Hannah intentionally missed her flight.

The family blasted McDonnell for the “lack of communication” and said they only became aware of the police determination from others who saw it on the news.

They also said the last video they saw of her showed that she was in distress.

Her father, Ryan Kobayashi, was among the family members who came from Maui to LA to search for Hannah. Authorities say he jumped from a building near Los Angeles International Airport and died from an apparent suicide.

Most recently the family said it had received death threats and decided to shut down its Help Us Find Hannah Facebook page due to online intimidation.
