‘Squid Game’ Season 2 breaks a Netflix record

The second season of “Squid Game” broke a Netflix record the day after Christmas.

According to Forbes, season 2 was the first series to debut at #1 in all 93 countries where Netflix is available. It is still too early to tell whether the show will break the viewership records it set with its first season.

The second season has been well received by fans, ending on a cliff-hanger that left viewers wanting more. When will the third season debut? “Squid Game” creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told Variety it could be coming sooner than fans expect.

“At this point, anything I might say is going to be a spoiler, so I want to be cautious,” he said. “But what I can say is, after Season 2 launches, I believe we will be announcing the launch date for Season 3 soon. I probably expect that to launch around summer or fall next year.”
