Emmy-award winning filmmaker Hiro Murai has launched a new production company, Chum Films, which will focus on “supporting the vision of new filmmakers and creators,” per Deadline.
Murai’s upcoming projects will be produced by Chum Films, including the Apple horror-comedy series Widow’s Bay starring Matthew Rhys and A24’s samurai film Bushido, which will be Murai’s feature directorial debut, Deadline reported Wednesday.
Murai won an Emmy in 2023 for his work on The Bear.
Producer Carver Karaszewski will be Chum Films’ president of development, and Claudia Shin, who collaborated with Murai on The Bear and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, will serve as senior vice president for film and television, Deadline reported.
