The official trailer for director Andrew Anh’s take (Spa Night, Fire Island) on Ang Lee’s classic, The Wedding Banquet is out.
In this LGBTQ rom com, Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars The Last Jedi, Riya & the Dragon) as Angela has trouble conceiving with her partner Lee as played by Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon). So they turn to IVF treatment. To pay for it, Angela agrees to a sham marriage to Min, played by Han Gi-chan, so he can get his green card. Min’s boyfriend is Bowen Yang’s Chris.
Min’s Korean grandmother, Youn Yung Jung (Minari), doesn’t know her grandson is gay and adds to the complexity by insisting on a big wedding.
