Kaitlyn Chen helps UConn to basketball championship

On Friday night, Kaitlyn Chen helped the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team to the NCAA championship game.

Chen and UConn faced the University of California, Los Angeles. According to the Connecticut Post, Chen, who was born in San Marino, California, grew up going to UCLA basketball games at Pauley Pavilion.

UConn defeated UCLA 85-51. Chen played 24 minutes, recording 6 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds.

Chen previously played for Princeton University. In 2024, she chose to play her graduate year at UConn.

“I think Kaitlyn Chen was the perfect addition for what this team needed at the position that we needed it,” UConn head coach Geno Auriemma told reporters, per USA Today, before the game against UCLA.
