Police in New York announced this morning its arrested a suspect accused of shoving a 52-year old woman violently to the ground outside a bakery in Queens, reports WABC.
The woman blacked out for about 10 minutes and needed as many as 10 stitches to close the wounds on her forehead, according to her daughter, Maggie Kayla Chang.
Authorities identified the suspect as Patrick Mateo.
New York Police Chief Rodney Harrison applauded the work of investigators.
“She is still in shock, she’s glad she’s still alive,” said the victim’s son to WABC. “She’s happy that she came out with a pretty gnarly injury but not enough to the point where it’s disabling her.”
He says the suspect threw a box of spoons at his mother.
The daughter earlier said he also screamed racial slurs at her.
Olivia Munn is among those who shared a photo of the suspect on Instagram. The actress called the victim’s daughter a friend.
