Awkwafina’s comedy series “Awkwafina is Nora From Queens” will return for a second season on August 18, Variety reports. The opening two episodes will air at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central.
The show centers around Nora Lin, played by Awkwafina, and her family as they navigate life in Queens, New York City. BD Wong plays Nora’s dad; Lori Tan Chinn, her grandma and Bowen Yang, her cousin. In the second season, 9-year-old Minari star Alan Kim will play Nora’s dad in flashback scenes, TV Line reports.
The plot is loosely based on Awkwafina’s own life. The first season premiered in March 2020 and did well in the ratings, Variety reports.
Here is a teaser for the second season.
