Filipina Canadian actress Jana Morrison will star in SYFY’s Astrid and Lily Save the World alongside Samantha Maureen Aucoin, Deadline reports.
Astrid and Lily are high school best friends whose lives change when they open a portal to a new dimension filled with monsters.
Morrison will play Astrid and Aucoin will play Lily. A press release described Astrid as “bold and unfiltered with a knack for ‘sciencey’ gadgets.” The character, like the actress, will be of Filipino descent.
Aucoin’s character Lily is a sweet and intuitive investigative photographer.
Morrison has appeared in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Master of the Heart and Chesapeake Shores. This will be her first lead television role.
