According to a blog in the Culture Map by Chris Baldwin, the Houston Rockets aren’t using their best weapon to entice Dwight Howard to sign with the Houston Rockets.
The Rockets used former players Hakeem Olajuwon and Yao Ming. They called on current players James Harden and Chandler Parsons. They brought in General Manager Daryl Morey, coach Kevin McHale and owner Lesley Alexander.
But they didn’t call on Jeremy Lin. Why? Likely because rumors that the Rockets are offering Lin in a trade are probably true.
Don’t forget that Howard is leaving the Lakers because he can’t stand being in the offense when Kobe Bryant has to have the ball all the time.
Does that can of remind you of James Harden? According to Baldwin, Lin would make a perfect complement to Howard and would be able to dish him the ball unlike anyone else on the Rockets roster.
In Baldwin’s eyes, Lin is a selling point, not a trading piece.
What do you think? Would Howard see Lin as a reason to sign with the Houston Rockets.
