The long battle for recognition among Filipino veterans who fought for the United States during World War II just got a second life, reports the Inquirer.
According to the Philippine Embassy, the White House Interagency Working Group has committed to reconsider the benefit denial for 4,000 Filipino war veterans under the Filipino Veterans Equity Compensation (FVEC) Fund
“We appreciate the commitment demonstrated by the Interagency Working Group and the efforts taken by the member agencies to review the certification process of the Filipino veterans and address their concerns,” said Cuisia.
