ABS CBN: Filipino Americans Line up for Low Income Housing Named After Fil-Am Pioneer

Larry Itilong VillageSome 900 people  lined up for a chance at one of 44 low income housing units in Los Angeles named after a Filipino American hero, reports ABS CBN.

The Larry Itilong Village is owned by a Filipino American community non-profit, the Pilipino Workers Center and named after a Pinoy labor leader.

Lines began forming at 4:30 a.m. for a shot at an apartment for rents as low as $300 per month.

“I’ve been trying to get my family and I out of a shelter and into an apartment,” explained Cynthia Lainey, the first person to line up.
