Rappler: Imelda Marcos’ Life Played Out on NY Stage by Filipino American Cast

Here Lies LoveFew things in the Filipino community generates as emotional a response at the Marcos family and Imelda Marcos is as big of a lightning rod as her husband, Ferdinand.

Thus it shouldn’t be a surprise that the life of Imelda Marcos is a subject of a new play now on the New York stage, “Here Lies Love.”

Rappler reports the play follows Imelda’s life when she held the height of power as the Philippines first lady to her fall from grace when she became the target of ridicule from Filipinos and comedians alike.

The musical is playing at the prestigious Joseph Papp Public Theater. The show ends its run July 28.
