William Shatner accused his former Star Trek co-star George Takei of blackening his name in a recent interview where he spoke out against multiple co-stars.
According to Variety, Shatner has been doing press to promote his book Boldly Go, Reflections on a Life of Awe and Wonder.” In the book, he said he was horrified and ashamed to learn that many of his former co-stars found him to be cold and arrogant.
Now, Shatner no longer wants to entertain criticism from people he believes are just looking for attention.
“I began to understand that they were doing it for publicity,” Shatner said in an interview with The Times UK. “Sixty years after some incident they are still on that track. Don’t you think that’s a little weird? It’s like a sickness. George has never stopped blackening my name. These people are bitter and embittered. I have run out of patience with them. Why give credence to people consumed by envy and hate?”
