Gold List and the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment released its third annual list of top films this morning ahead of the Academy Awards nominations.
Critics’ favorite Everything Everywhere All At Once topped their list in five Oscar categories. The movie has not only been gold for A24 studio, but it has also been a coming-out party for Asian actors and actresses who haven’t gotten their deserving props until perhaps now.

The two organizations dedicated to uplifting Asian visibility in entertainment and other areas of society also chose several films that perhaps have not gotten as much attention in the Oscar race.
Those films include Living from screenwriter Kazuo Ishiguro. The poignant film focuses on a veteran civil servant determined to squeeze in as much fun as possible in his final days after receiving a disturbing medical diagnosis.
Bad Axe is being pushed for consideration for Best Documentary. It’s the story of an Asian-Mexican family confronting racism head-on in a small town.
