BTS star Jimin is the first South Korean solo artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart, BBC reports. His new single “Like Crazy” moved up from no. 10 to no. 1 this week.
BTS announced that they were taking a break last year as a few of its members will need to begin their military service in South Korea. According to Billboard, all seven BTS members have had solo songs on reach the Hot 100 chart but none have ever reached no. 1.
The chart is based on sales, streaming and radio airplay. CNN reports that “Like Crazy” sold 254,000 song downloads/CD singles, drew 10 million streams and received 64,000 radio airplay audience impressions.
Jimin posted about the Billboard achievement on Instagram, saying “Love u all,” in his caption.
