Some 20,000 people in Taipei crowded into an evangelical gathering to listen to basketball star Jeremy Lin talk about his journey with Christ.
Focus Taiwan reports that Lin talked about becoming frustrated last season when he couldn’t meet the expectations created by Linsanity.
He said became unhappy and lost his appetite and lots of sleep. Then he found his inner strength.
“I don’t have to be ‘Linsanity’ for God to love me,” said the Houston Rockets point guard.
For Lin it was a matter of getting his priorities straight–setting aside the desire for worldly possessions and realizing what’s important.
He urged those in attendance to build a spiritual foundation by participating in community service and helping others.
Fans enthusiastically applauded Lin’s message and wished him well in the coming season.
