It’s been the exit that CBS Big Brother has been building up to since early-July.
That’s when host Julie Chen spoke out about the racist remarks made by some of the contestants on the show and acknowledged it brought back memories of her childhood when she was 7-years old “being bullied, being called a chink.”
Tonight the contestant most vilified for her racially offensive remarks, Aaryn Gries, was evicted from the show by her fellow house guests.
Chen confronted Gries about it during the exit interview.
Gries said the allegations about her remarks were overblown.
“Being Southern, it’s a stereotype. I have said some things that have been taken completely out of context and wrong. I do not mean to ever come off racist. That’s not me and I apologize to anyone that I have offended.” Zap 2 It quotes her as saying.
But when Chen read a transcript of those remarks back to her, Gries fessed up. Sort of.
