Netflix’ Beef came out one of the big winners in television at the Golden Globes Sunday night.
Voters named it the Best Limited Anthology Series on top of the Best Actor and Actress Awards for Ali Wong and Steven Yeun.
Only Succession had more awards-coming out with four for Best Television Series, Drama; Best Actress, drama, Sara Snook; Best Actor, Drama, Kieran Culkin; and Best Supporting Actor, Matthew Macfadyen.
For Beef creator Lee Sung Jin, the award was reality creating an even better reality.
“Our show is actually based on a road rage incident that actually happened to me, so I’d be remised not to thank that driver,” said Beef creator Lee Sung Jing. “Sir, I hope you honk and yell and inspire others for years to come.”
Yeun and Wong both joined Lee on stage for the award presentation while Simu Liu presented the award.
(Correction: An earlier version of this story erroneously reported which group produced the Golden Globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association disbanded in 2023 following a diversity controversy and Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge Industries purchased the awards show. We regret the error.)
