Democrats invest $35M in targeting voters of color

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) recently announced it is investing $35 million into Latino, Black, Asian American, Pacific Islander and Native Hawaiian voters.

According to NBC News, the DCCC is calling the project “P.O.W.E.R. the People” (with Power standing for persuade, organize, welcome, educate and reach). The large sum exceeds the $30 million spent on similar efforts during the 2022 election year.

The campaign will produce ads in English, Hindi, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese, Axios reports. According to NBC News, the money will also go towards conducting in-depth research, providing information on voting laws, collaborating with local organizers, and countering disinformation.

“Democrats are committed to bringing responsible governance back to the House so that we can continue the important work of lowering costs, protecting and expanding health care, and delivering for our constituents,” DCCC Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.) said, according to The Hill.
