‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ has huge opening weekend, overtakes ‘Dune’

Kung Fu Panda 4 earned $58 million during its three-day opening weekend, overtaking Dune: Part Two as the number one movie at the box offices, Deadline reports.

The fourth film follows Po as he searches for a new Dragon Warrior to train with Master Shifu. On his journey he will have to face a new enemy named Chameleon, who can steal the powers and abilities of previous villains.

Jack Black returned to voice “Po,” alongside his castmates Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, Bryan Cranston and Ian McShane, Variety reports. The fourth film also added Awkwafina, Viola Davis and Ke Huy Quan to the cast. Quan shouted-out the film during a red carpet interview at the Oscars on Sunday.
