Cirque du Soleil has launched ‘Auana, its first-ever resident show in Hawaii, marking a historic moment for the renowned entertainment company. According to a statement from Cirque, the show premiered on December 17, 2024, at the Outrigger Waikīkī Beachcomber Hotel.
The premiere was celebrated with a dazzling red-carpet event that drew prominent figures, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, James Beard Award-winning Chef Roy Yamaguchi, and Olympic gold medalist surfer Carissa Moore. As described by BuzzFeed, the production combines Cirque du Soleil’s signature acrobatics with Hawaiian cultural traditions. Featuring a cast of Pacific Islander talent, the show incorporates traditional storytelling, hula, and music, offering audiences a captivating homage to the vibrant history of the Pacific.
