Prosecutors in Suffolk County, New York have laid out their case against five people accused of being behind a ring that sold millions of dollars in counterfeit luxury goods in homes in New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Georgia, reports the NY Post.

The District Attorney says  Jimmy and Janice Yim, their brother Chee Ching “Steve” Yim, 45, sister Tina Ngan, 31, and associate Anthony Moresco, 64 are accused of purchasing cheap goods from China and putting counterfeit designer labels on them.

Embroidery machines and other equipment used to transform the cheap items into luxury wares were found in a Long Island City, Queens, warehouse.

Sales were conducted for $18 to $25 dollars in private homes at handbag parties and on the streets.

James Hayes, the Special Agent in Charge for Homeland Security Investigations, assisted with the case and called the handbag parties “unique, but not surprising.”

“Just like any other retailer, they’re going to try to take advantage of every available avenue” to sell, Hayes said.
