Code switching is something many minorities do everyday. It’s when we move from group to group and change our mannerism and the way we speak depending on the group.
You might call code switching a defense mechanism to fit into a particular group. Skeptics might call it turning your culture on and off.
The Filipino American blogger acknowledged he acts differently with work and school friends than he might with his parents.
Now he questions himself because he wonders if code switching makes him less Filipino.
