Now Dream Shake is reporting he’s interested in buying the Los Angeles Clippers.
The timing is good with Donald Sterling having just given his wife permission to sell the team.
Yao would be the second Asian to own an NBA Team. The other is Vivek Ranadive who bought the Sacramento Kings just a year ago.
Yao owns Yao Family Wine in Napa.
He remains active in the NBA promoting the league in the Chinese community.
Having Yao on board would fit into the league’s plans of expanding the NBA’s brand internationally.
He remains very popular in Houston, where he played from 2002 – 2011.
