Arthur Chu came all so close to staging a comeback victory in the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions.
He started the final night of the tournament $10,000 behind and in second place.
That was quite a deficit to make up, but he almost did it.
As Cleveland.com reports Chu went into last night’s Final Jeopardy with a $3800 lead over eventual winner Ben Ingram.
Both Julia Collins and Ingram incorrectly answered the final Jeopardy question opening the door for Chu.
But it was not to be.
“I was so bummed that I didn’t have enough of a lead, but then I got my category for FJ (Final Jeopardy)” He said he has always been able to respond to a Shakespeare clue correctly.
He shouldn’t feel too badly. For his second place finish, he earned another $100,000 bringing his total winnings to $397,200.
Earlier in the competition, Chu tipped his cap to the Asian American community for the support it gave to his run.
After his loss, he tweeted out the following:
I made a video about my reaction to losing to Ben Ingram in the ToC2014 so I wouldn't have to talk about it http://t.co/N55cPtoUwX
