It’s not often you find news stories in the general media focused on Asian American Dreamers. The debate has been largely a Latino one with the needs of Asian Americans pretty much ignored. But a new nationwide video is bringing attention to the story of  an Asian American dreamer and it has some heavy weight behind it, reports  KGO-TV.

The video is directed by Davis Guggenheim of “An Inconvenient Truth” and “Waiting for Superman” fame and Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. It features a UC Berkeley math student who’s just been accepted into graduate school at Yale, but may not be able to go because he’s undocumented and doesn’t qualify for federal low interest loans.

Terrence Park talked about why he decided to come out as an undocumented student. “I thought maybe this is the right moment for me to actually contribute something to the movement,” Park said.

Terrence supports the Dream Act which would provide a path to citizenship for undocumented students. He was brought to this country by his parents from South Korea.
