The girlfriend of Stephen Paddock, the shooter in the Las Vegas massacre, is once again being called a person of interest in the case.
On Monday, Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said he did not believe Marilou Danley was involved in the shooting “at this time.”
Today, he once again described her as a person of interest.
ABC News reports Danley traveled to the Philippines on an Australian passport two weeks before the shooting. She then went to Hong Kong, but returned to the Philippines, where they said she was born.
“We are continuing the investigation into that female,” said Sheriff Lombardo. “There are several questions that need to be answered.”
Danley is expected back to the United States this week. They will likely ask her how Paddock obtained his arsenal of weapons and why he sent, according to sources, tens of thousands of dollars to someone in the Philippines in recent months. Newsweek reports $100,000 was wired to Danley’s family by Paddock days before the shooting.

The magazine also reports Danley had two husbands at the same time and two social security numbers. In 1990 she married Geary Danley and in 1996 she married Jose Bustos. Records show her marriage to Danley was not dissolved until 2015.
One social security number has her birthday in 1962. Another lists her birth year as 1954. According to Newsweek, there has been past instances where immigrants can get a social security number when they enter the country and then another once they are approved for work.
