It was an incident seen around the world.

Now the two officers who violently dragged passenger David Dao off a United Airlines flight have been fired.

A report from the Office of Inspector General confirms the firing and the suspensions of two others.

“Most notably an OIG investigation found four Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) employees mishandled a non-threatening situation that resulted in the
physically violent forcible removal of a passenger aboard United Airline Express Flight 3411 on April 9, 2017. Acting on OIG’s findings and recommendations, CDA terminatedthe Aviation Security Officer (ASO) who improperly escalated the incident and an Aviation Security Sergeant found to have been
involved in the deliberate removal of material facts from an employee report. CDA, in accordance with OIG findings and recommendations, suspended two other ASOsinvolved in the incident and its aftermath.”

“As we have clearly stated, the department is taking every action in our power to ensure that an incident like this never, ever occurs again,” Lauren Huffman, deputy commissioner of communications for the Aviation Department, said in a statement to South China Morning Post.

The firings became public this week, but apparently occurred in August.

News of the firings cheered supporters of the Dao family.

“There is a lesson to be learned here for police officers at all levels. Do not state something that is clearly contrary to video viewed by the world,” Thomas Demetrio, Dao’s lawyer, said.

  1. RE: Officers in David Dao United Airline Incident Fired: Incredible…he behaved in a violent, arrogant, and disruptive manner. Then when he is forcibly removed he whines and behaves like an innocent victim. This is the definition of unacceptable selfish behavior.

I’m really tired of the manipulators, on our turf, taking advantage of the Laws and niceties extended to the deserving. Scum bag sissy got punked but for him it’s all about, “Me first!”.

Ohh I forgot…all he wanted was a PAYDAY! And those descent People whose flight was disrupted and bloodied by this indecent individual? Right.

It’s astonishing any official body, law, or business would cover for this foolishness.
