Long time Detroit residents know her as a living legend. 97-year old Grace Lee Boggs has been voted top social activist by readers of the Metro Times in the Detroit Metro area.
Dr Boggs earned her PhD from Bryn Mawr. The daughter of Chinese immigrants has written and co-written five books. In 1994 she launched a training program for activists and her home has been turned into the non-profit Boggs Center, dedicated to nurturing individuals and groups devoted to developing just communities.
