Asian Nazi Found Guilty and Faces Time in Prison

Heon "Hank" Jong Yoo

Heon “Hank” Jong Yoo, also known as the Asian Nazi, faces up to 45 years of prison for several weapons violations, reports Dallas News.

“The 25-year-old South Korean national was arrested [this year] on April 6 under a fed‌eral wa‌rra‌nt from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Fir‌‌ea‌rms and Explosives (ATF). He was indicted on April 18,” reports Next Shark. On Nov. 15, 2018, he was found guilty after a three-day trial in the Eastern District of Texas, where he lived as a permanent U.S. resident.

According to Dallas News, “Yoo possessed firearms and ammunition when he was arrested, which he was prohibited from having under federal law because he was involuntarily committed to a mental institution in 2013 and 2015.”

In 2013, after Yoo threatened to shoot his resident counselor at the Rutgers University where he was studying, Rutgers Police brought him to an emergency room. “He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, aggressive homicidal ideation and explosive personality disorder,” according to Tyler Morning Telegraph. In 2015, Yoo was taken to Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care Center after shouting “death to the Middle East.”

Tyler Morning Telegraph further reports that Yoo applied for a Texas license-to-carry permit in Feb. 2016. In May 2016, he acquired the permit after withholding his residency status and history of mental health issues, suggesting that the information applicants provide are not being verified properly. In Sep. 2016, the Texas Department of Public Safety revoked the permit. Yoo, however, did not surrender his license, which the Texas Rangers eventually seized on Oct. 29, 2017 after Yoo allegedly made a threat about killing Blacks and Jews.

Yoo’s story sheds light on the multiculturalism of American nationalism. Black, Latino, and Asian young men who join the America-first movement, according to The Daily Beast, are less pro-White and more “anti-Muslim, anti-illegal immigrant, and anti-Black Lives Matter.”
