Allegiance, A New American Musical, continues its march toward a Broadway Premier.
Tony Award winning actress Lea Salonga (pictured here) announced in a blog for the Inquirer that she begins rehearsals for the Allegiance’s development lab tomorrow in New York.
The play about a Japanese American family torn apart by the incarceration of Japanese Americans broke box office records during its world premier at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego.
George Takei(pictured here) who co-starred with Salonga in the Old Globe production has championed this play long before its debut and has set his sites on Broadway, declaring without a doubt it would get picked up for a New York run.
So far no formal dates have been announced, but you can be among the first in the general public to find out by signing up to be an Allegiance Ambassador . As an ambassador, you’ll also get announcements on the show’s Broadway debut, along with special offers available only to a select group of people.
