This one is hard to figure out. Manny Pacquiao fought Juan Manuel Marquez four times.
By most accounts, the fights were all real competitive. Pacquiao and Marquez fought to a draw in the first bout, then Pacquiao won the next two before being knocked out in the fourth.
Maquez says that will be the last time he fights Pacquiao, according to the LA Times, Marquez says he wants the victory to be his lasting image.
Pacquiao had hoped to fight Marquesz a fifth time, but Juan chose instead to fight Timothy Bradley.
A fifth fight would have been a Pay Per view bonanza and it would also have lead to a big payday for both fighters.
First Floyd Mayweather won’t fight Pacquiao, now Marquez says he won’t fight Pacquiao. These are the fights boxing fans want to see. Seems if I were the boxing commissioner, I’d do anything in my power to make the fights happen.
No wonder for many, boxing is no longer the sport it used to be.
I really agree in today's boxing statistics. It is a lot different compared to earlier boxing eras. With the upcoming Marquez vs Bradley, it would be a lot focused on money and not on the fight itself.
