But that’s what’s going to happen on the television program American Ride on BYU TV, reports the Clarion Ledger.
Historian Stan Ellsworth rides into Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
That’s where the 100th Infantry Battalion was transferred to about 9 months into their service.
“It was because of the success of the 100th Battalion that the Army decided to open military service to all young American men from Japanese ancestry,” Ellsworth said.
