The costume is so far from being an authentic it’s laughable. Never mind that some of the motifs on the outfit are Chinese, not Japanese.
As one Japanese American woman put it, “this is the least Japanese thing I ever wore in my whole life.”
Another said “I might as well wear your bathrobe.”
