Police in Columbia, TN say four Chinese adoptees have been killed along with their mother in an apparent murder suicide, reports WSMV.
The three girls and one boy have been identified as 4-year-old Bo Li, 14-year-old Meigin Lin, 15-year-old Lia Lin and 17-year-old Kaileigh Lin.
All five victims were found by an older brother. A motive remains unclear. WSMV reports neighbors say the family kept to themselves and that neither the husband or older brother are suspects.
“This appears to be a loving home,” Maury County Sheriff Bucky Rowland said, according to the Tennessean . “It’s an immaculate home and a very loving family. So a motive would be very important to know what would lead someone to do this to her loved ones.”
Authorities believe the mother turned the gun on herself after killing her children.
The Tennessean reports the mother, Cynthia Collier had been trying to reconcile with her husband following divorce proceedings this past spring. They had been separated since 2007 and had not lived together since 2009.
